Shaykh Abdullah bin Bayyah participated in several conferences in Vienna, Austria in November from the 20^th to the 26^th 2013, which served on the whole as a dialogue between followers of divine religions and world cultures with the aim of achieving greater understanding and co-existence. The conferences advocated compassion and spreading peace and goodness to mankind while also combating injustice, oppression and the blood-shedding of vulnerable and oppressed on the Earth. It was an alliance for virtue and a pact for graciousness.

The two invitations were from the two famous Vienna-based institutions: the first was from the King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz International Centre for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue (KAICIID ) and the second was from Religions for Peace.

Professor bin Bayyah’s focus during his trip was on the importance of justice as a path to making and obtaining peace. He said in his lectures: ‘There is no peace without justice and no justice without peace’;, but he also called the priority of peace over the priority of revenge and reminded those present that the defense of the right is right, but the search for peace is also right.
